John Ward Park, also known as Rocket Park, is located at 2400 Forest Avenue, Anoka.
The newest rocket playground design was installed in 2004, other modifications made in 2003/2004 included a large shelter, updated irrigation system.

Skate Park Re-design
From June 21 - July 4, citizens were asked to take a survey regarding the design of the new John Ward 'Rocket' Park skate park. The results are in! 218 people participated in the survey! Thank you for your input. Spohn Ranch will now take that survey data and the additional information gathered at the Community Meeting held July 6 to come up with 2 concepts for our new park. Check back for information on the concept reveal meeting.
Project Timing:
Fall 2025 / Winter 2026: Due to the proposed cost of the skate park ($750,000+), construction will not be possible without community donations and grant funding support. At this time, we are still waiting on the Minnesota Amateur Sports Grant for Skate Park Construction to be released.
